I like how you state that "newest != good" but then like HBA because they're "doing something new."
HBA is a perfect example of how "new" can actually be synonymous with complete shit, design-wise.
It's very telling that their nicest (relative term) pieces are well-established basic designs that they slap their tacky logos on. Whenever they try to actually design anything the result is an incoherent and impractical mess.
