i copped 1461 mono
made in thailand/china are a size larger than usual, so size down.
once broken in, they mold to your feet and the silhouette looks a LOT better. the heel is slightly too big for my liking, literally the same heel size as the dr marten boots... but solid beaters that i wear with slim tapered pants. skinny tapered would probably make them look like clown shoes tho... theyre very comfortable with the air cushion sole, i tried on my friends made in england monos and it feels like walking on cement lol, so he has insoles for them. but the air cushions are like insoles already and add even more to heel height...
the shine goes away on its own but you can use shoe conditioning to get rid of it you really want it gone from day one.
I suggest taking night walks with one for a week before you wear them out in public during the day. they'll be well broken in by then and have a more vintage look. make sure to wear thick sock and wear fabric bandage.

Breaking in was painful, they're really stiff and were pressing against the back of my ankle/ top of my heel. But I put a plaster there which stopped that. Now the leather's softer and I can wear it however.
It fits a bit better with thin socks tbh so I go for that if I can, but it's not too bad either way. I never wear stuff without socks but they're fine with thin no-shows
