whenever i'm in an h&m store i just want to get out. there always trashed, clothes laying all about, and full of minorities (usually indians and other brown people)

Well, if you would only buy h&m stuff, you would look better than like 60% of the people here, but i would still just get the basics there
i dont like their "style" atm, but you can find a few good pieces imo

2)dont expect for the stuff to last long
nay but they do have their place in my wardrobe. If I want to experiment with a piece I can pick a up a cheaper quality version at H&M. If I like it I'll buy a better quality product from elsewhere, If I don't it will most likely fall apart and I can throw it out or donate it without feeling like I wasted money.
People that say go there for the basics have it backwards, in my opinion. You should buy quality basics, not H&M.

not a single h&m piece in my wardrobe has fallen apart. i never got the quality complaints. what the fuck do you guys do to your clothes?

Kind of hit and miss. Their jeans and denim jackets are good considering how cheap they are. I also have a really nice cardigan from them that hasn't fallen apart. Many of their clothes don't last very long though.

Yes actually. H&M designed a signature scent for their stores that they use to help sales. Generally the scents that end up in stores have performed very well in panels. That doesn't mean everybody will like them though.

I don't shop there anymore because I realized it was just pissing money away. My only mall stores are banana republic and foot locker. Banana republic is the best store at the mall for price vs quality. When you go during a sale the prices are only slightly more than h&m and the clothes are miles better in every single way. The materials are good, the fits are usually good, the style is hit or miss but 1/10 pieces there are perfect. I bought a linen sweater there that I've worn 3 times this week. Fuck h&m, I used to buy their garbage when I was a freshman and all the stuff I bought there fell apart and looks like shit once you actually are used to seeing the difference between them and the better stores like jcrew, br, and nordstrom.

I feel that H&M is like a Russian car pure manufacturer, most of the cars they make are crap and fall apart from the moment you get out of the dealership. But every once in a while you get a car that will go through hell and back and will only need an oil change. I have an H&M hoody last me 5 years now, with the one wear being on the cuffs from when I wipe out on my trial bike.

The shirts seams fold over after one wash because the threads aren't aligned properly. Everything pills after 3 months. It doesn't even look good in the first place and the pants fit atrociously. The button ups are too thin and look cheap from 20 feet away. Dye fades on everything after one wash. Everything shrinks after one wash. The fit is for teenagers not full grown men. I'm 6'2" with a 42 chest and 32 waist and can't fit in their xl blazers.

Better prefaded denims look more naturally faded. The fading placement is in the natural places and looks like it should on good denim. The gradients between light and dark are harsher. Cheap faded denim looks unnaturally faded in places that make no sense and the gradients look weak.

It's a hit & miss, for the price point their basics are great, devoid of any branding but quality control is shoddy, as is to be expected. Good closet filler, for stay at home days.
