they've got counters along every wall, there's plenty of space.
the plant isn't even taking up most of the table, it's in a small bucket and the table is eaten up by that bread and produce sitting there for no reason.

You do not want to live in a place like this. Trust me, I do right now. No insulation so its always cold as fuck in the winter and hot as shit in the summer, often times it smells, its hard to clean, and the utlities are usually just as shit

true that, century old homes always have structural issues (since the foundations aren't modern slab concrete and usually rubble based)
knob and tube electrical wiring (some people just convert 3 feet all the way around to scam people
and the layout is weird....open floor plans with indoor/outdoor living is mostly a recent phenomenon
