Anyone have any experience with aether as a brand? I really am digging the cloud jacket for f/w, but at that price I'm not sure if it's worth it. Anyone have any other options I should check out?

Also, techwear general

The Clymb is having a sale on Levi's commuter line. they actually have a decent amount of sizes this time. use my rec code to save us each ten bucks (http://vnlink.co/SpEeEXF). this is their third levi sale in the last month, but it's the first time they've restocked sizes. these deal sites are actually a decent source for techwear. huckberry had a proofNY sale a while ago and currently has (or just had) a sale on some mission workshop and aether pieces.

I own them and they're my favorite pants. you see them pretty often in tech fits. I can post a fitpic after work if you just want to see the sizing but it's not hard to find inspo. the only other decent slim fit cargos at that price point are RLX space cargos (currently on clearance sale) but that's just aesthetics. functionally speaking these things blow them away. stretch+articulation+dirt/water resistance+ gussetted/reinforced crotch. cop.

Costco was running some soft-shells in their stores that were comparable to a North Face Apex Bionic Jacket. I've been wearing one recently when the temp dips and it rains in Atlanta this summer. I've been comfy and dry everytime, and the cut is pretty good along with the sleeve lenghth.
>>
>>8629620
that's more of a gymwear outfit.
>>
>This whole thread

Basically the style is what's super common up here in the Puget Sound Seattle area. It rains a lot here about 156 days out of the year. Rain coats are pretty much necessary, also the Puget Sound area is known for a solid tech industry. I love here it. I love the clothing required for the weather.

The Puget Sound's rain consistency is mostly drizzles, nothing ever heavy. But when it does rain it goes on for days sometimes. About once a year it rains nonstop for about a week straight which is awesome. This kind of weather is great for introverts like myself who love to be somewhere quiet with my thoughts, the rain compliments the ambiance.

The culture here (Seattle mainly) is known to be sort of stand off ish, in some cases rude from people not familiar with the Puget Sound. But I think it's a misconception, people here are just more inwards than outwards and I think the weather has a lot to do it with.

so thanks to the guys that used my clymb rec code. they're having a factory sale now and they have some meh deals. good for outdoor stuff, not good for fashion. Huckberry currently has proofNy's nomad pants on sale for a crazy 90 bucks (retail 190). nomad pants are proofNy's version of outlier's slim dungarees. http://proofny.com/collections/bottoms/products/nomad-pants#specs-tab . the inseams are all 34.5, I've never done it but Sufu says they can be tailored like any other fabric. I will also shamelessly whore out my huckberrry rec code (http://fbuy.me/_3Il) which gets you five bucks and me ten. I haven't purchased anything from this site yet so I can't comment on return policy. clymb has you pay for return shipping but does a refund. when I called them about it they refunded my shipping. hoping I won't have to go through that with huckberry
>>
Techwear is cringeworthy school shootercore clothing
>>
>>8632534

How much stretch is there in the waist? Or is there none? Currently like a 33 natural waist and I'm wearing jeans which are a 32 waist right fairly comfortably and I feel like I should be able to drop down another waist size to 32 or maybe even 31.
>>
Why is it that every techwear general always ends up being absolute shit?

Either it's people posting Acronym goof ninja shit or fucking Levi Commuters.

OP, Aether is pretty good shit. I have two winter coats from them, one which I abused the shit out of this past winter, and it took it like a champ. I have heard rumors of poor quality, though... not able to confirm myself.

>>
>>8635242
more than denim, less than gym shorts. think pulling on a cotton tshirt. I ordered a 32-36. my waist is between a 33 and a 32. when I pull on the belt loop at my hip it stretches about an inch. only size down to 31 if you want a super skinny fit. they are pretty slim and have decent taper (though, as I said earlier, I have big leg muscles from running). a 32 would probably fit you fine
>>
>>8635300
you're joking right. go to dicks. go to modells. go to soffees website. basic items like that can be picked up most places. any running store will have those.

Ah okay, perfect then, also it was more non-optional which as 31-30 was one of the only sizes they had left, although yeah looking at it I have like ~27" inseam so 36" wouldn't have worked anyways. Good to know it should stretch enough to fit properly on the waist though.

and just to be clear. I only mean superior for the tan colorway. Khaki pants, especially khaki cargoes strike me as being summer pants. in that feature these lightweight, easy to convert to 3/4, almost beachcomber pants work better than the heavy, hot, commuters. I totally concede functionality to the commuter. but as someone who owns both, these are the pants I pick in the summer. more bad massive file size photos. also, if anyone hasn't seen it Outlier restocked an updated OG pant and you can get it for fifty dollars off with the code 2008

Thoughts on Isaora x meyerhoffer sweatpants? Looking for a good slightly tech-y sweat. Was gonna cop nike tech fleeces but they ran out of sizes :(

Also ausfag, and Isaora shipping is gonna cost me 30 buckaroos. The "sale" is gonna cover the shipping price at most. Wat do?

So, from a few inputs in this thread, Aether seems to be quality.
I was considering their Empire jacket for cycling. I commute, quite often in the rain, sometimes in some heavy downpour.
Has someone there used the jacket? I'm quite tall at a bit more than 190cm, so I'm a bit worried the lower back flap may not be long enough.

Aether makes good clothes but they're frequently overpriced for what you get. check out SWRVE's jackets, one of which is currently on clearance. I'm 194 cm myself however so if you do but it post fit pics. buying clothes is always an adventure huh?. at least outlier makes pants in long inseams

Huckberry currently has Aether's pinnacle jacket for a hundred off. https://huckberry.com/store/aether/category/p/18704-pinnacle .
full disclosure: I'm this guy (>>8635177)

>>8652662
To elaborate, they're not overpriced for what they are, but rather where they're made. a lot of tech wear is coming out of new york and San Francisco companies who use local labor. you pay a premium for that labor. aether stuff has the same schoeller materials, but they sew it up in factories overseas while expecting the same, and often greater, price premium of American manufacturing.
>>
>>8652732
and their space jacket, but I haven't heard great things about this. overpriced for what it is and not too durable. you can find fit pics of it on sufu.

Big, quickly done splash of my fall winter directions I may go in. I'm definitely going for more color and a more care-free vibe. just grabbed random items that look similar to what I'll be aiming for. some strong tech elements for sure, but I'll keep it a bit lunar too.

No one should wear a raincoat when it's dry just like I don't walk around in a formal suit on any given evening.

Techwear is a function-oriented (or at least more so than most) manner of dressing.

I'm currently trying to build a capsule wardrobe of techwear for minimalist living and travel.

Thanks for the recommendations, though I don't really dig the SWRVE jackets...
The milwaukee looks like a hoodie, and I absolutely hate the buttons on the deck.
Also, about the price, I'm in europe, so pretty much anything tech is way overpriced due to importing. I was considering buying from mr porter, that way the return is free in the worst case.
360€ is a lot though..

Many Kirkland products are surplus stock from their vendors that they rebrand and repackage. It's especially evident in the spirits.

What's most appealing about techwear is the jackets. I need one for winter time and in Sweden we usually get around -15C and -20C. Could you guys recomend a jacket that would manage that cold without being a "puffy"?
