A lot of these fits are real basic, good palewave outfits should have some interesting loose silhouettes or cool use of pale colours.

I think normcore was too vague in definition to ever be a thing. "Palewave" or whatever you want to call it, at least in my version of things is about desaturated colours, particularly pastel tones and slightly looser fitting garments within the context of more classic pieces. Although one could easily apply this to more modern looking pieces, off-white bomber jackets look pretty sweet and more techy fabrics could take it in an interesting direction.
The inspo I've been posting is what I think illustrates my idea of it quite well.
