Winter coat/jacket thread?
Really like the ILU Fishtail Parka.
Can anyone post a fit with this jacket?
Maybe recommend some similar ones? Price doesn't matter.

I'm not sure skinny/straight legged black jeans/pants are so much a trend anymore than they are a staple of modern streetwear.

did you cop? So close to buying right now, I bought the Alpha Nyco Parka back in February and have barely had a chance to wear it. That thing is really heavy though and bulky, hope this one is thinner and slimmer, plus dat elongated fish-tail

Someone has a small on grail.

Thinking of copping soon.

I own this. Materials pretty solid and the park features like the fish tail end are really great. Especially since the jacket isn't freaking huge. Also the contrast around the cuffs and color block are nice design elements you don't see to often.

Does anyone put out a good black parka for like $3-400?

I'm thinking of getting a fjallraven one

Theirs warm, but how bad do they look? Pic related

Anyone ever own an alpha industries one? They apparently have a "slim" one

I love the look of allsaints but I hear they're probably not worth $5-600

Help? Anyone?

would you recommend the alpha parka?
>>
>>8534494

Yeah man I saw some the other day, look comf as.
>>
>>8534544
I would, I'm a 5"7' manlet so I copped the small, comes to about my mid thighs and is still pretty big. The sleeves are about 3-4 inches too long for me, but it has velcro on the cuffs so I can tighten them around my wrist so they stay in place, or just cuff them. It's really warm, I went out in the snow in a shirt and hooded longsleeve shirt and wore the lining with the jacket and holy shit I was sweating. Raindrops literally drip off or just stay in place on the jacket, no seeping through. One thing to keep in mind is that this is more of a fucking coat than a jacket. That's why im looking at the ILU parka, it looks slimmer and has a fishtail, the Alpha doesn't.

I've got a repro 60s Storm Rider I like. Not this exact model. They're pretty warm and you won't have to pay a lot of money to get a second hand one that is already broken in.

>>
>>8538376
Blanket lined. Liner is wool and... I can't remember what else. Some artifical fibres.
Pretty warm, particularly if it is buttoned up.
Mine does not have hand pockets which isn't great, though I believe some storm riders to have them.
I would not want a coat over it but mostly I don't think I'd need one.
>>
>>8538386
Storm Rider's "Genuine Alaskan Lining" content as follows:
50% reused wool.
30% Polyester
10% Rayon
10% Acrylic.
Blanket lining is nice but you do get a lot of sleeve bulk, which might not be a problem in a second hand jacket.
>>
>>8538382

>>
>>8538210
Depends on the model.
The tor parka is by far the best.
Bayani is extremely boring.
Bart is a worse version of the Bayani parka with all those ugly grey details.

In terms of quality and construction they're all bad. But they don't cost a lot.

I don't have high hopes for this year's model seeing how it's just gotten worse every year. Not just with the parkas, but everything Cheap Monday related.
>>
>>8538973
I hope your fucking kidding that will not keep you warm at all. It's a shell it's meant to keep weather out, and it's a cheap one St that. Don't buy a shell expecting winter warmth.

>>

yeah it's a stupid silhouette too that thing is short as fuck. I could understand if it was longer and ended at the thigh/knee, but something like that just looks dumb and that profile pic accentuates it

Why does /fa/ throw out this as a catch all excuse for anything ever

You know a silhouette can look shit

Even if it was done consciously, it still looks stupid
>>
>>8539568
>>8539583
Everyone has a different taste. Something about the drastic break the parka gives from a side view is appealing to me. Diagonal lines represent chaos and uncertainty, plus it's all about how you wear it. If you throw a bag over your shoulder, its going to cause the fishtail look to disappear because of the added weight to the back. Yes, some silhouettes can look like shit, but just because you think a specific silhouette looks like shit, doesn't mean it does. That's what we call an opinion.
