What is your opinion on 'design watches'
I can't really think of what to call these, but I'm referring to watches that exist not as fashion pieces or as watchmaker creations but as pieces of design
gonna dump a few.
I guess it comes down to your opinion on the function of clothes or whatever in fashion. The purpose of a watch is ostensibly for timekeeping (lol) but I guess there is something artistic that can be said about the marriage of the inherent clockwork functionality of a watch and something subjective and wishy washy like aesthetics/design. They're pretty cool as art, and I think I'd rather wear something like this than a classic rolex, not least due to the size of my wallet. They look very pretty regardless, but I don't know if they're manufactured to last.

"not as fashion pieces...but as pieces of design"
Do you mean like...fashion design?
I think a lot of these look kind of silly, but I have always had a soft spot for movado
you could have just said "minimalist watches", they're still fashion and they're still created by watchmakers
