For example the dude in OP's pic benefit him immensely because the glasses fit his face, and they frame the eyes nicely. If we get rid of the glasses his eyes would be too small, and his nose would appear too short.
With the glasses, he is easily a 7+ (minus the stupid duck face). If he were to take them off, I'm guessing he would actually be well below average, because we would pay more attention to his "unattractive" features than his more attractive features.
I'm sure someone could Photoshop out the glasses and unmagnify the eye to demonstrate that better.
