I found a pair like this from the Dutch army in milsurp shop, green, high waisted, no hip pockets, button fly, made in Holland from the 1950s. Wonderful heavy herringbone cotton, made to last.

The SS were a lot more open in what class of Germans (and everyone else for that matter) they recruited from. Their officers were not required to have a university degree, for instance.
Most of the aristocrats ended up outside the SS as they had lineages and responsibilities in other German units. Not all, but most.
