>>
>>11391766
p sure if you pluck them, the follicle will be fucked, and they won't grow back eventually, or they'll just grow back slower or some shit like that.

the black spots on your nose are most likely sebaceous filaments, you can't do much about those without a visit to the dermatologist
>>
>>11391766
The tiny hairs are likely peach fuzz, which everyone has to some degree. The black spots could be either blackheads or sebaceous filaments. You can't eliminate sebaceous filaments, but you can minimize their appearance temporarily by using the Fifty Shades of Snail technique: https://fiftyshadesofsnail.com/2015/03/28/how-to-shrink-pores-temporarily-plus-3-pore-myths/

Sensitive skin
Don't put hand soap on your face
Look for products marked sensitive skin and go as lightly on them as possible. Most people over wash and over cleanse avoid that.

>>11391106
I used it when I was in middle school, it's okay as long as you moisturize and don't get a high percentage.

Anyone ever have dark spots grow around the mouth ? They get dry, itchy, and irritated if I leave them alone without moisturizing the area

Ive had it for about the past two years or so, the spots come and go and I seem to get it around summer time so I have a hunch it might be related to the sun but I cant be sure

I generally eat healthy and /fit/ so I wonder why I get this. I plan on seeing a derm if it gets worse but for now its something I can handle though it does make me more self conscious at times, just wondering if anyone has had any similar experience with this

Reposting some information about postinflammatory hyperpigmentation & erythema:

Postinflammatory = A condition that arises after an inflammation (often in a certain area). The damage is often generally caused by the past inflammation. Inflammatory acne, when you get red/swollen/painful pimples, is a common cause for postinflammatory skincare conditions.

PIH = Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Hyperpigmentation means that there is a local excess of skin pigments (melanin). Pigmented spots have a dark brown color. The dark spots can last for weeks to years.

PIE = Postinflammatory erythema. Erythema is redness of the skin. The redness is generally caused by tiny superficial blood vessels that for some reason have been dilated or have gotten an increased blood flow. PIE are the red spots you get after acne. After inflammatory acne, the skin can be excessively red in some spots for weeks - up to years.

---
If you have any of them:
Protect your skin from sun damage using a +50 SPF sunscreen (with UVA protection: +3/5 stars). This is especially important for PIH. Both issues will fade in time (months, years), to some extent, if you do not irritate the area through more acne or sun exposure.

If you have PIH:
Your treatments options depend mainly on how much your skin has been pigmented, and the depth of the pigmentation. For superficial pigmentation, you'll might be able to make your spots brighter by applying things like hydroquinone, vitamin C serums, and retinoids.
For deeper pigmentation, try pulsed dye laser, chemical peels, or fractional microneedling (FMR). See a dermatologist for help with this.

If you have PIE:
Time + sunscreen will fade it.
For more active treatments: consider silicone sheeting, pulsed dye laser, or fractional microneedling (FMR). See a dermatologist for help with this.

What soap should I get for my face?

I have a very oily nose with a lot of blackheads, which I usually clean with a comedone extractor. I also have one or two whitehead on my chin or forehead at any given time. I've been washing my face with hot water once a day in the shower and popping pimples with an extractor. Sometimes I'll use Clean & Clear Advantage when one gets really bad (2% Salicylic acid).

I eat ok food and drink plenty of water.

I think it's just a natural part of your aging process. You skin is becoming more oily as a result of puberty, you shouldn't blame yourself or diet as this is independent of agency.

You should look into a salicylic acid or retinol treatment, and if nothing else works go to a dermotologist and consider getting accutane if that shit is still legal.

It can be beneficial for a more thorough clean.

I was born with pretty clear skin and rarely have pimples, not enough for it to be a problem any way, but I notice that I get them more frequently when I don't use a toner (I use mine because I have large pores around my nose and like to make them look smaller).

tl;dr: There's no harm in using it and no harm in electing not to use it. If you have acne, it's probably preferable to give it a go because it may help to prevent future breakouts.

okay ive been to several dermatologists and nothing is working. ive been through a ton of different anti-acne meds but they all either make my skin redder or dont do anything at all. my face has a weird bumpy texture that doesnt go away and is really red. theres also a weird red spot in the pic related that the dermatologist claims is a birth mark even though it has only been there for a few months. all these expensive meds are really burning a hole in my pocket and makeup can only do so much help

your skin looks fine except for the small red areas. I don't see any acne at all in this pic.

My skin and blue color under my eyes is usually the best when I'm a little tired and when I just woke up. I just think it's some sort of cycle your body goes through.

Help please
a little more than a month ago I popped a pimple and ruptured a blood vessel damaging my skin. It turned into a reddish pink flakey rash and I immediately thought it was ringworm. I used ringworm cream but it never really improved, it just got oily and larger. Still thinking it was ringworm i've been washing my face like crazy and applying cream and it has gotten super dry. I even stopped putting on lotion thinking it would spread ringworm. I even put vinegar on it which seemed to dry it but made it worse the next day and it jumped to my other cheek. I now have stinging and itching parts of my scalp. My arms, legs and chest get roundish itchy patches and I'm thinking it's because I stopped putting lotion on them too. Eczema and chronic dry skin runs in the family

Is it seborrheic dermatitis? Did I screw up this whole time? I used selsun blue on my scalp and it made it less itchy but it still stings and flakes to the touch under my hair

I have that on my upper arms, and have no idea what to do about it, but I've heard that some moisturizers can help

What's the best carrier oil to use with Tea Tree Oil?

If your arm has a lot of small bumps on it like goosebumps, and is red, then it's Keratosis Pilaris.

Shit is horrible, still dealing with mine. Going to buy an AHA, I've heard Gold Rough and Bumpy is good, I'll report back after using it for a few weeks.

Right now I'm using Stridex, then coconut oil, it helps a little, but never goes away completely.

I have shitty facial hair but every time I shave I get small bumps and very often small whiteheads, which is annoying as fuck since I'm on a prophylactic 20 mg a month dose of accutane. Should I use a moisturizer after I shave or will that shit just clog my pores?

Sounds like razor burn, acne gets worse if the skin is irritated, so could have something to do with that. Might also be an old razor, could be time for a replacement?

I see nothing wrong with moisturizing after shaving, I would first make sure the skin is clean before moisturizing.

I often shave first thing in my skin care routine, then cleanser, then actives(exfoliators), then lastly moisturizer.

at least I know what it is. hasn't been a huge problem, but I'd love to find some shit that works
