probably, because that is the simplest no-bullshit guide to getting fit on the entire internet and I'm not saying that lightly
generally you should start eating around 3000kcals of good solid food, get your protein in and lift HARD. the sticky has good routines and guidelines for building a diet
you should add about 20-30lbs of lean muscle, then cut, then see if you're happy with the result
will take around 1.5-2 years, maybe more maybe less, depending on how hard you work and the genetics you have

well, pick a routine, most of the beginner ones in the sticky have 3x5 for the compound lifts, you pick a weight with which you can comfortably do 3x5, doesn't matter if it feels easy at first because you will add more and more weights as the workouts go on. this is called progressive overload and it is the secret of getting results from going to gym
to explain it simply, if your performance in the gym isn't improving, your body isn't getting any better either
