>Rick Owens Sneakers
They are disgusting and clumsy looking; they are repulsive and unelegant, like their wearers. Pic related
>>
>>11351584
I agree wholeheartedly bruh. To me, they look like Converse tried to make clown shoes.
>>
>>11351584
The main issue with Rick, especially here, is that people who can't really afford it try to pull off the look

So you end up with this gawky teenager wearing a single Rick piece along with a bunch of stuff he got at the mall, and he's short and has a bad body and everything just feels bad

Yeah I used to wear the Rick Owens silk blend long sleeves instead of James perse... because Rick was cheap on gilt.

After I was done with it

Nearly everyone I sold to had the last name nyguen or however it's spelled

About 20 different people 16 of them southeast Asian

And wrote like they were young.

It's a fad amongst the undesirable minorities today

People just get angry when they hear that because they think it's racism bit if you want to blend in with niggers and Koreans all day acting hood then go ahead
>>

Black shoes can look fine with a brown suit as long as there is not too much contrast.

Button up shirts under sweaters looks stupid and too uptight/uncomfortable

You can look really good just buying stuff from cheap places at the mall. Money cannot buy good visual sensibility.

Vans are fine. At least get a decent colorway. Not the super normalfag ones that are black with white stitching and outsole. At least get a decent colorway.

If we are talking the realm of this alt-prep thing I could see this with somewhat slim dull khaki pants and oxfords. Or you could go with a less sneaker like alt/rick pair of shoes/boots.

That being said regardless that piece looks versatile and can go with a lot. Bit long for my tastes though. Make sure it fits you right. Tailor if need be.

Unpopular opinions:

- I don't think money buys style. I buy expensive pieces, but just as much of my wardrobe is random shit i found at the thrift store on half-off day. Some of my fits are sub-$10 if you don't count shoes. No-fuckscore

- I like the look of repaired clothing. Sometimes I buy damaged garments if I think I can make the repairs look cool.

- I think all the sneakerhead stuff is wack but I like nice sneakers. i'd take a normal pair of ultraboosts or whatever over y3's or 350's any day of the week. Even if a shoe looks real cool (like my examples) the hype ruins it for me. I always regret buying hyped sneakers.

>I always regret buying hyped sneakers.
maaan I feel you on this. lately I've been put off of buying sneakers simply because they are just terrible piece of capitalism that result in 20thousand people in the same city wearing the same shoes, that's not fashion.
thrifting is also very /fa/ so not very unpopular.
I need to see the repaired clothing though, v curious.
>>
>>11357605
the biggest thing that ruins it for me, is how much attention a hyped shoe brings to you. "OHHHH YOU GOT THOSE?!?!" "those are fake" etc all day long from strangers.

I suppose thrifting is popular. I think it's at least a little unusual that most of my favorite pieces are thrifted though.

it's way too dark to take photos of anything right now :( some examples of some stuff i've done recently:
mesh upper on my running shoes tears? nothing some nylon thread can't fix.
cool nylon vintage joggers with a crotch blowout at the thrift store for $2? i bet some cross stitches would look cool.
free designer sweater with stage makeup stains? redye!

I'm not very skilled or good, but it adds to the charm. The magic has to be right, sometimes repairs look like shit but those times they come out looking good it's a look no designer can ever replicate.

on a similar tip, there's a lot you can do with thrift store finds if you have a good tailor and know what they can & can't alter easily. basic alterations are very cheap, especially done in bulk or if you're a regular customer. for example if you're looking for tapered pants you don't necessarily need to buy tapered pants. if you're looking for a slim buttonup, anything that fits in the shoulders/length/sleeve length can probably work it doesn't need to be a slim cut shirt off the rack. etc

it's just that generally cargo shorts are affiliated with fedoras or autists. this is a fact. you can't find a single normal perish in cargo shorts. if you think you are normal with cargo shorts you're dead wrong.

I take back what I said. you can find some people with cargo shorts that are normal... never mind, those people that aren't weird or autistic are autistic about fashion anyways so they can pull it off. I was right. only autists wear cargo shorts.

is it really though?

I mean, I completely understand what you mean with that the brand doesn't make the clothing piece. But for many, the brand is also what you want to affiliate yourself with - if you have two exact jackets, let's say a kilted jacket. One with supreme and one with barbour logo. They are both EXACTLY the same except for the logo.

You'll buy the one you want to affiliate yourself with - not because the logo is pretty. Just reading your post makes me guess you'd pick the Barbour jacket. It's more traditional. More safe. More grown up.
Supreme is for younger people. Probably a bit of more liberal-ish crowd.

Think about it.
