Vondelpark is nice if the weather is good, try to get a beer at a terrace in a busy part of town and just look a people (I can suggest Leidseplein during daytime) and Amsterdam will amaze you. Also Amsterdam has some really nice authentic asian food places, just look for places that look like they on't accommodate tourists, mostly in/around the red light district
