It has some fashion relevance, same with haten but its mainly between us and the yung lean type of crowd, yohji fans could appreciate it, weaboos, etc.
I honestly would like to try some traditional Japanese clothes for my style, to experiment a bit.

I think its cool how they view kimonos almost like how the west views suits, those things cost a fortune at least the better/authentic ones.
Used by others it feels tacky but some companies draw inspiration from or pull it off well (noragi down by visvim for example). Denimbros have also been on it for years which makes me feel like its unecessarily saturating the market

Some wealthy people in the west collect them but that is rare.
Recently there has been a trend here for 'kimono jackets'
There are a small group of people in the west who are obsessed with Japan and are called 'weeaboos'
Other westerners dislike them, they are usually found online. The average westerner on the street won't have heard of them. They are similar to Otaku.

When I get my Japanese visa, I am moving to Tokyo to attend a prestigious High School to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become an animator for Studio Ghibli or a game designer!
I own several kimonos, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Japan, so I can fit in easier. I bow to my elders and seniors and speak Japanese as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.
