I use a mix I make myself includIng coconut oil, bee wax and cocoa butter, sometimes I add some essential oil (preferably mint so it gives your hair a subtle chocolate/mint alike aroma) and I really like it, it doesn't rot (as far as i know) but yes after a while it stops smelling nice, I still prefer it to any other comercial product

Pomade just didn't work for me. It made my hair all ropey and uncontrollable. If it works for you then don't let me stop you from using it.
