i mean, i think that as a newer, more widely accepted format of shoe, no, that's not at all a fad. qasa/tubular type shoes are definitely here to stay. but y-3 is a fucking bullshit fad that produces little of value except qasas and maybe an occasional decent kohna model and the occasional nice jacket. it's otherwise a joke brand for hypesters to wear out and show off how they overspent on something, sort of like a more street-wear oriented Hugo Boss. in that sense, qasa is a fad - all hype little substance, absurd price point.
