Why are people against structured shoulders?
What's so wrong about having some padding in the shoulders?
Honestly, most man greatly benefit from having structure on the shoulders.
Soft shoulders look like shit on people with weak and sloping shoulders since it most often makes them look hip heavy and pear shaped. Those shoulders work best with people with square and broad shoulders.
it's haram
how about stop having garbage-tier shoulders
Because it's the current
trend, and soft shoulders suit the current formfitting cuts well. I've worn both non-padded and extreme linebacker shoulder pads. Either one is comfy when done well, but the softer shoulders lend themselves better to more casual fits and fabrics. That's where we are now.
It's mostly a cultural thing. Structured shoulders help accentuate the typical upside down triangle form and can be seen in Italian suits. Unstructured suits look less formal and I see them in places like Stockholm and Copenhagen.

There are fewer and fewer places where dressing very formally is really necessary, so people want suits and jackets that are a little more dressed-down so they can wear them more than twice a year without looking totally foppish.

Sure it's a trend. It's a fucking terrible trend for most people. I'm not saying you have to go for sharp, 90 degree angle shoulders. But some padding and extension is required for most people, especially those with narrow and sloping shoulders unless you enjoy looking pear shaped. Having padding is not a bad thing.
this is so annoying
i can't find a single one without padding
i look like a box if the shoulders are padded because of broad af shoulders
it's sad

On average, British cut suits have a lot less padding than American and especially Italian cut. So my advice would be to cop a Brit cut suit f a m.
Unless you want to go full power silhouette mode, in which case an Italian cut suit would be best due to the triangular frame framing the contrast of your waist and shoulder width. But this only works if your torso is triangular (shoulders wider than hips by a good margin).

Sad but true, Americans need to go back to trad
Another thing to consider is the shoulder width to head size. Having unstructured shoulders and narrow shoulders with a big ass head will make you look like a bobblehead. A good example of this is that chink Kent Wang.

Well, I'm not a fat shit and have broad shoulders.
