If someone willingly posts their picture in a suit, to 4chan /fa/, the only logical conclusion is that they are cosplaying as an adult.

You dense motherfucker, that jacket has buttonholes evenly spaced all the way up. It's apparently cut like the type of 19th century jacket that the modern suit jacket developed out of, which buttoned to the chin and had a stand collar (and which it became popular to not button all the way, to show off your cravat better). You're the retard here.

Part of me wants to agree with you, but then I remember this is internet and 4chan so this board is very likely just vicarious posting.

Still, it can't be nice moving around in a very thick and stiff material coat, a medium thick and hat turtleneck, what looks to be a thick (maybe even a sort of denim???) collared shirt with the collars flipped up and probably some sort of undershirt as well has extremely tight jeans. Like this? Seems a bit informal for business wear though. I guess if I'm wearing my suit and it's a casual event (e.g. no tie) then I could go for this. I've heard that people in the UK (particularly lawyers) always wear black shoes in professional settings. I'm just paranoid since I grew up being taught not to mix black and brown yet navy suits are supposed to always have dark brown buttons from what I've read.
>>
>>11262527
If you only have a black suit, then wear it without a tie and a simple white dress shirt.

But ideally you want to wear a grey or blue/navy suit. I recommend a red tie and brown wingtips or oxfords.
>>
>>11262528
Yes, that's what I meant. I think it works better with a more chunky blutcher than a sleek oxford, though.

Not mixing black with brown is a wives' tale. There are some blacks and some browns that don't go together, but a contrasting black and a brown like the laces on those shoes is a perfectly valid and acceptable combination. I probably wouldn't wear brown shoes with a black suit or black shoes with a brown suit unless there was some mitigating factor, but if I had pants the colour of those shoelaces and some darker coloured jacket I could for sure pick a pair of black shoes.
>>
>>11262564
Thing is traditionally most of the people will be wearing, black or dark navy suit + bowtie. Will black suit and brown shoes still be that bad? Also what colour bowtie would be the least ridiculous?
>>
>>11262630
You probably won't see any of them wearing black + brown shoes, so avoid this at all cost. And a black bowtie would be least ridiculous.

Here's a better fit picture of my custom jacket than the crappy one I posted.
Here it doesn't look baggy and you can see the high armholes in action. I can lift up my arms without any restriction unlike low armholes which would lift up the wholw jacket. The jacket is not heavily padded, only slightly most of the shape of the shoulders come from mine

>>11263526
I disagree with you on the lapels and jacket length. The lapels are perfectly balanced width-wise and pretty much the ideal peak lapel for a single breasted suit. The jacket looking way too long is mostly due to the camera being too high up - the angle is shit and makes his legs look very stumpy. You can tell from the angle his feet are at just how bad the camera distortion is.

Dead on about the shorter leg length and higher rise, though.

Only pic I have, took it just before heading to my cousin's wedding a few years back. I hardly ever have occasions to wear my suits, and don't generally think to take pics when I have them on.

The jacket is actually a rough navy material and not the usual black, about as much /fa/ as I could sneak into a formal affair.

Chest looks to be too tight m8. Your lapels are bowing. Looks a little short. Something is going on with the shoulders.

Mostly posture, I think. It fit well when standing normally.
