YSL was good in early 2000s.
Too many botanical elements to keep me interested IMO.
Right now I'm decocting essential oils as fragrance. Patchouli and vetiver are what's poppin for me. Cedarwood also is a good alt for sandalwood or anything oud-y. I've never found a scent through retail channels that projects as long as an oil and it's return value is invariably higher.
Ordered testers for naiouli and frankencense - we'll see how they fly.

I poured some of this away and mixed with tobacco I got from Arabian perfume shop.
Now I got better tobacco vanilla perfume plus it lasts longer.
If you want the normally tobacco vanilla then Arabic perfumes is what you are looking for.
Cheaper, much longer lasting and you can adjust which scent you want to dominate.
