I'm moving to northern holland in a few months (Groningen) I'm from a small island in the Caribbean so I have no clue what to wear when the seasons start rolling.

It will be wet. Get good boots, warm sweaters, and seasonal waterproof jackets. Otherwise it's kinda like any other semi-northern climate. Never been in the summer, so I'm not sure about that weather. Can't really recc much without knowing your style anyway.
Jeans, blouses and a summer coat will be fine. Just have some warmer stuff around for the cold days and check the weather.
Also, make sure that your coat can handle the rain. Apart from that welcome to Groningen. Go visit the Pacific if you want to meet other international people or just go to the ESN parties!
Just slip on a noose m8, I lived there for a year and it sucked ass, the people there are turdburgers.
Seriously though, prepare for an endless autumn, two months of bone chilling wind, if you're close to the coast and about two weeks of summer a year.
The shitload of art venues is a redeeming quality though.

Basically:
Summer = nice and warm, a bit windy, regular summer. Up to like 30 degrees or so
Anything else = you'd best have a jacket with a hoodie on you. Umbrellas won't help
