Remember how SHIT late 90s / early 00s hip hop fashion was?

It's crazy how much the fashion improved while the music got worse.
>>
>>11243790
the amount of people in the ghetto that still dress like this is hilarious
>>
>>11243797
The worst is when it's those guys 40+ still dressing like they did when they were 20.
>>
>>11243790
The fashion is still shit and the music is still shit wtf up with all these white people sucking nigger dick if it's 'old school, my n-word!' to prove they're not racist or some shit. KYS you cuck.

Have an open mind and listen to some non-radio rap music. I'd recommend some Wu-Tang, Redman, Nas, and Outkast from the 90s. There is some good artistry in the genre and that's why people like it.

you aren't open minded, you aren't well rounded, you're just a delusional moron

you don't think people said the same shit about rock and roll when it was a new genre? you are simple minded and that is all
>>

Jesus christ you fucking scum, an open mind means that you're prepared to listen to any genre and appreciate qualities of very different works.

Just to prove you wrong I'm going to search for the first song lyrics that I can find of these artists and copy paste them here.

Wu-Tang Clan:

Ghostface, catch the blast of a hype verse
My glock bursts, leave in a hearse, I did worse
I come rough, tough like an elephant tusk
Ya head rush, fly like Egyptian musk
Aw shit, Wu-Tang Clan spark the wicks an'
However, I master the trick just like Nixon
Causin terror, quick damage ya whole era
Hardrocks is locked the fuck up, or found shot
P.L.O. style, hazardous, cause I wreck this dangerous
I blow sparks like Waco, Texas

>Ook ook eek eek ahz beez dangerous n sheeeeit

Redman:

(LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!)
In this corner we have the funk bodysnatcher
P Funkadelic and I gotcha hard enough
That I can chew a whole bag of rocks
Chew an Avenue, chew an off street and off block
Then turn around and do the same damn thing to a soloist
Cause Reggie Noble's pissed
I crush your whole brain frame
Cause you couldn't maintain the funk
That have your rap style for lunch, chump
Cause 92, I take a whole crew
Give them a punch of the funk, knock all of their gold tooth loose
(POO POW)
To show you what type of stuff I'm on
You can't puff or sniff it
Because I was born with it
The Funkadelic Devil, hit you with the rap level of 10
Then 1, 2, 3 You're pinned
I get action, so everybody jump wit your rump
If you like the way it sounds punk,
Pump it in your back trunk
And let loose with the juice when I do rock
I'm too hot, some say I got more Juice then Tupac
(STRAIGHT OUTTA JERSEY)

>Yeeeuuh muhfuggah muh rappin skillz beez bedda dan yourz n sheeeit
>>
>>11244311

wow anon nice cheery picking youre so smart i guess you are right
>>
>>11243952
Nas (had to cut this verse in half because it was too long):

Rappers I monkey flip em with the funky rhythm I be kickin
Musician, inflictin composition
of pain I'm like Scarface sniffin cocaine
Holdin a M-16, see with the pen I'm extreme, now
Bulletholes left in my peepholes
I'm suited up in street clothes
Hand me a nine and I'll defeat foes
Y'all know my steelo with or without the airplay
I keep some E&J, sittin bent up in the stairway
Or either on the corner bettin Grants with the celo champs
Laughin at baseheads, tryin to sell some broken amps
G-Packs get off quick, forever niggaz talk shit
Remeniscing about the last time the Task Force flipped
Niggaz be runnin through the block shootin
Time to start the revolution, catch a body head for Houston

>Yeah nigguh ahz beez tough n shieeet

Outkast:

Time and time again see I be thinking about that future
Back in the day when we slaves up everyone's a cool ass nigga
But now we vultures, slam my nigga back out
To make his ass black out, or even pull your fuking head
To make his whole crew believers, you're harder than a bitch full of dicks
But that don't be sounding like he's shit to me
See now in the ghetto or should I say Lakewood
You better be strapped cuz them niggaz over there just ain't good
Just being a hustla, serving on all your customers
Rent was due on the 1st of the month so I'm hustling
I buy you 50 box of Phillies at the Citgo
And niggaz be wanting drinks and shit from the fuking sto', yo
But that's aight, tho', cuz I be getting paid
And every trip I take, there's a dollar to be made
I'm digging through my pockets for my earnings got you five
Deep, there it is, now it's time to smoke that jive

This verse is just gibberish. The only thing O understood was

>Muh hood be bad n sheeeit dats why i gotta sell crack!! Dont cum down here white boi

You have to fucking retarded to listen to this shit. It should be socially unacceptable even for black people to listen to rap.
>>

>It's wrong to tell stories from your own experience.
NY State of Mind (The Nas song there) is one of the greatest rap songs ever written, creating a vivid picture of how it really was where Nas grew up. You aren't attacking lyrics for being bad (they're not). You're attacking them because you apparently can't identify with any experience that's not yours. Also, how about actually listening to the songs? Rap is a form of poetry. It's not just about the words, but how they're put together when they're spoken.

But clearly you're just a /pol/ack who somehow stumbled in here so I don't know why I even bother.

The popular brands are based in skate culture but the way people currently wear the clothes and what they pair it with aren't the the way that typical skaters dress. Current street wear really is a nice mash up of bohemian/hipster styling, skateboarding, and hip-hop with some designer pieces thrown in.

Listen again and listen harder for the story running through. A large part of the album is what it's like for him to be leaving behind those he grew up with. They made him who he is and the stories he gained through living and growing with them gave him incredible fame, but his talent isn't theirs. He talks a lot about the guilt he feels for leaving the people he's always wanted to help behind because a lot of them don't listen.

the song where it keeps sayin "Shit don't change till you wash your ass, nigga" is about how he's trying to bring his friend from the hood to fancy shit now that he's famous but his hood friend wants to steal shit. He's gotta let the shitty people who indirectly formed him go and take them out of his life.

"u" is a lot about the guilt of not being able to help people around him. there's also a bunch of shit about the record industry trying to fuck people coming up from nothing. some otehr stuff about how black culture needs to move away from any government help.

So yeah he spits a lot about race relations and how the black community has been fucked by the world in a lot of ways. But he also preaches personal responsibility n all that. He's not a bleeding heart kinda guy. he got in trouble with the safe-space-dwelling types when he said that the black community needs to learn personal responsibility and that he was mad about their behavior during the ferguesson protests.

It's not a mixtape my man. Shit's really a masterpiece, like even the lyrics are good for deep reading. His raps compact a lot into a small space, makes it really satisfying to unpack it all.
