very pretty, but it's a little busy. I feel like if you're going to go with the "open" concept for clothes storage, you can't have knick-knacks at the same time, unless you're over 60.

moving into an apt with high-pile carpeting soon. Wall-to-wall. Yikes.

Should I be on suicide watch or are there effay solutions to almost shag carpeting. Salt and pepper color btw.
>>
>>11244993
there is almost no way to make carpet look good. it will always look cheap.

try tearing it up on of the corners and check if there is maybe hardwood floor underneath. depending on the length of your stay it might be worth getting rid of the carpet.

It's a start/10.

New linens would help. Even if you're going lighter tones/pale, they look a bit tired.

You have a great base: hardwood floors, great light, large windows, killer view. Better make it good for the rest of us living in suburbian apt complexes / 80's basements
>>
>>11245506
Decent floor, view and bedrame.

Not a fan of that nightstand, the comforter or that lamp on the ceiling. You have the whole contemporary modern thing going on with the wood floor, black window and white walls and frame so either add to that or compliment with a few colour highlights. The nightstand and comforter look like some hand-me-downs from the 90s (and not in a good way)

also where the fuck can i fit a 65in tv? feel like it will look awkward in the living room.

Clutter-core is okay in parts, and only if you have the space. Open space to balance out the claustrophobia. Not bad/10. The ghetto string light placement and huge ass plant there actually helps.

I'd be wary about the wall of old books next to the water heater though. Those in itself are pretty effay, dunno why you'd wanna cover up half of it.

Do get a new coffee table though, to replace your ikea-tier one.
>>
>>11248030

Espensive outta/10 but did well with the money spent. I think ikea has something similar, they're trash but if you like the place you linked you'll be fine with ikea. Other places to check, Target, UrbanOutfitters (as you said) check online too, those vendors carry other stuff not in store.
>>

I called up all those places today they only have 1 br available. I need two unfortunately.
decided to look into warehouse 71 in cohoes right now and wow those lofts look incredible. price is a bit steep though.
>>
>>11250362

Fuck man it's brilliant but I know that's gonna be expensive. I mean nothing more fashionable than a sweet loft but I would have no money for clothes, bills, hell even food.

If you're loaded then good on ya mate but hardwood floors/exposed brick/open floorplans are so in right now, the market is very upscale and isn't going to stop anytime soon.

Really sweet place though. Wish I wasn't a poorfag
>>
>>11250360

Yeah you could even paint the doors with spraypaint. It's so easy and literally takes like 60 seconds per side, 30 min to dry. Boom, instant pop of color. Ikea stuff is cheap (quality and price) but what is a plus if you're customizing is that things come already separated so painting parts of the furniture is easy.
>>
>>11250362
The prices are steep but you will definitely get a better bang for your buck in Cohoes as compared to Downtown troy or alb. Have you looked into Harmony Mills? It's sort of a bizarre building but the apartment interiors are gorgeous plus they have an indoor pool and 24 hour gym if that's your thing.

http://www.harmonymillslofts.com
>>
>>11250374
Hard wood floors and good natural lighting is a must the exposed brick is just icing on the cake but i can live without it i guess haha.
>>11250383
I briefly looked at those lofts earlier the prices seem actually reasonable as well. Need to find out what units are available though. The hard wood floors look really nice. I like the beat worn down look to them.

we have the outside, the living room and pool area (the room in the distance) covered, my housemate from Dubai has got some knarly furniture to put outside
the wall not pictured is concrete, prolly gonna lay the bed upon that side, was thinking concrete blocks for the night stands
possibly taking the master in this beauty tho, so plans might change, pic related

>concrete blocks
yea but not on carpet. I got these nice alessi acrylic/metal folding chairs, they look great in the sun, would be nice poolside. the whole midcentury modern look is played out, even if you're in an eichler you can push it a little forward to the 70s with some good picks

You cannot be serious. I don't know anyone that still has cassettes. Maybe a couple hardcore /mu/tants, but that's it. I also know people that still have HD-DVDs and fucking betamax. They're just as inconvenient as vinyl, they might be more portable but they degrade over time.

Being "into music" without ever going to shows and developing your "hobbies" purely isolated to internet communities isn't effay.

Never going outside is pretty effay, but if you try it sometime, you'll see tapes. I can name relevant labels that put them out in every contemporary american scene: noise, house, techno, -punk. What's even missing? Black metal?
>>
>>11252620
That looks lovely. Large windows + low ceilings is a good base for maximum comfy.
>>
>>11253964
Jesus Christ, project much?

I didn't say I've never seen tapes, I said I don't know anyone that buys them. Most people just buy a CD at a show. Maybe vinyl, but that's impractical to carry around. I rarely see a band only selling cassettes, and I'm not going to buy a cassette if they also have a better format of their album.

best that can be said is you didn't fuck it up. all your shit is ikea junk and the space itself is equally generic and divorced of design. You're probably paying too much for it.

but besides the lounge chair and bedsheets, nothing is an eyesore. would recommend varnishing the wood on the chair. bad choice of fabric.

If you didn't have such an empty bookshelf, this wouldn't have happened.

Share it with one roommate, has about equally sized room. 750sqft total with a kitchen and 1 bathroom. $650/mon each, Chicago. Would be 50% more in in LA and probably twice as much in NYC. I love the interior but the neighborhood is too close to downtown 2bh, very yuppie, wanted a place in chinatown or pilsen but couldn't find one, gonna try again when the lease renewal nears.

the one I just attached to that post is donald judd's preserved-as-an-artwork NYC home, 101 spring st, not my place lol. it was basically the first industrial warehouse reconverted into an artist's loft in the US iirc. dude owned 4 floors or so. this is my place >>11252620 . it's in south loop, next to the harold washington library

pilsen & bp are the neighborhoods to be in right now. downtown is a drag and everything north seems gentrified af though I dont hang out there much

I've seen some warehouses that look like that in the bridgeport area from the outside but I haven't really checked if they're residential/livable. I mean, if you've been out to bp's archer ballrooms, they're basically living in that kind of deal though I've no idea what rent they're paying or if it's even officially residential. 2bh I'd fucking love a warehouse space like that but idk know anyone who'd be down to split it with me, I'm not from the city, my friends here are normals.

west pilsen has some nice studio spaces but a little overpriced, all run by one real estate company. I forget the name, it's polish sounding, blue and orange logo. they like own a monopoly of that entire side of the neighborhood

attached a throwaway email. get in touch if you want
