also if you look at the other major fashion forums on the internet, they tend to be very much devoted to japanese designers - superfuture, styleforum etc. I never really lurked there but I think it might be in part that they realized archival steals were easily had on yahoo jp/rakuten in comparison to the markups and poor conditions found for designer items on ebay. or maybe it's just japan's importance in contemporary streetwear.
