okay this might be a stupid question but how do I wear patterns? I understand that I shouldn't wear more than one patterned thing at a time(unless they go together really well or something idk), right? what about shoes? can brogues go with patterned pants for example? teach me about patterns /fa/

Pic related is me circa a year ago, way before I first started posting on /fa/. I realize the top is pretty meh (would work much better with a dark colored sweater instead of that 2012 core t-shirt/cardigan combo), but I still think the pants are amazing and go well with the oxfords.
