Hey /fa/ggots, /fit/ here. Most of my tee shirts fit like garbage and I need to start replacing them. Oxfords, dress shirts, etc. are easy and are expected to be tailored and I've found pants and jeans that fit great, but tees have been a nightmare. Any suggestions?

this depends on your body type and the kind of fit you're going for. my best luck is with uniqlo v necks and I'm learning how to hem the sleeves. however, the fit is more streetwear-ish than tight (i.e. OP). I'm 5'10" ~151 lbs 13% bf (estimate) and I wear size M.
this is as far as I got with the sleeve hemming. I just rolled them up and tack sewed it. I need to cut the sleeves and sew them properly without them flaring out. if I gain another 5 lbs and get to like 11% I think it should look decent. the lighting and angle for the pics is pretty bad btw, makes the top block look too big.

AA 2001 and Mossimo are both worse than the uniqlo supima cotton ones in terms of material. it looks like the crew necks went to shit but the v necks are still made from a really nice cotton that's much better than anything else I've tried in that price range.

ignore the fashion nerds talking shit, they don't know any better. if you have a big chest and smaller waist you should go with slim fit tees, otherwise you can look fat due to the fabric draping down from your chest and being all baggy in the stomach area. you want a thicker cotton tshirt as well. I've tried a lot of t-shirts and most don't look good on me either, but superdry tees look great, they have tons of different styles so check them out

Thanks brahs, really do appreciate it. Buying clothes has always been a pain in the ass for me because I've always had wide shoulders (40" shoulders, 30" waist), so it's either fit the shoulders and be too long and baggy everywhere else or have all the lengths right but feel like I'm wrapped in cling wrap.

I guess that's personal preference more than anything, but if you're trying to find a balance between a t-shirt that drapes in an unflattering way and a t-shirt that feels like clingwrap, I've found that thicker cotton tees make it easier to find that balance. But It's not as important as getting a good slim fit tee. I typed that out in a rush because I've got to go out real soon, hope that helps m80

If you're fine spending more, take a look at Sunspel also. I don't own any of their stuff but they're well respected and a classic brand, well known for the quality and fit of their basic tees. fairly fit men like sean connery, marlon brando, james dean etc. repped them.
Levi's Vintage are similarly classic in fit and quality, that line uses authentic recreations of their archives.
Personally I find margaret howell and cdg shirt fit me best, I don't work out but I similarly have wide shoulders. you can always just tuck them in, it looks good and with blue jeans, gives a classic 80s look
