Hi /fa/, practical fashion issue here. I'm a hipster to the core and I simply cannot part with my beard, yet I'm still determined to join the military - specifically the air force. I've always been interested in Islam and other cultures, so if I convert to Islam, could I potentially keep my beard?

I can wear gas masks, they just pull my beard hairs a bit and the seal isn't that great, but it's not like I'm going into a chemical environment. Does the seal really have to be perfect if I'm in a plane?
