at what age can you start wearing suits other than when required without looking autistic?
>>
Late 20s I would say but depends on your job

wearing a suit always looks autistic at a time other than when required.

people only wear them as a requirement for their jobs.

unless youre an old school elderly man who grew up wearing their sunday best.

anyone lanky looks autistic in a suit unless its impeccably fitted

this, especially if the suits have more casual details and fabric

you're not going to be wearing a fucking charcoal work suit casually, but a sportcoat and slacks, a linen suit, or a cavalry twill suit will take you far and you'll be able to wear them pretty much anywhere you like

if you don't live in the USA you can start wearing suits earlier because the USA is slackercore and suits are generally not part of what's commonly worn by people on college campuses - but I think a good sportcoat/slacks combo looks good if you're at least 20

Shits when not required usually look autistic unless you're really a pro at making it look as casual as possible. For example, a grey or navy sack suit with brown belt and shoes will look a lot more chill than a more fitted style or formal color with black leathers.

There's more room to individualize with a sport coat/blazer and trousers combo.

*suits

Adding to this, it's pretty much across-the-board lame to try to show off wealth through a suit. I see a lot of guys who are all into Hermès ties, cuff links and the like, but that's new-money-core. The American elite that isn't on Wall Street or Hollywood (both socially questionable places to be) wears conservative ties, button-downs and barrel cuffs for the most part.
