Not that it is my business but if you're going to have your jeans tailored it might make sense to invest in a higher quality pair of denim that will last a long time with proper care. Unbranded and APC have sub $200 USD black raw denim.

Otherwise if the money isn't an issue I'd second Levis. Cheap, will last about a year or two with daily wear and worth it.
