dark denim jacket -> light blue jeans, black jeans, or grey if you have them.
I have a super dark blue denim jacket (it almost looks black), and it pairs well with a pair of skinny medium grey jeans. Like another anon said, make sure whatever shirt you wear underneath it is long enough to create a nice barrier between the jacket and pants. Can almost never go wrong with a classic white t-shirt

What's a good denim jacket that runs a little taller than usual. (got a bit of a longer torso most denim jackets only make it to the top of my belly button.) slim or straight back fitting and darker rinse like OP but in like a grey version of that indigo. I like That shade but hate when I notice the Blue in certain lights or over time.

An old made in USA levis jacket. Get one with a numbered size (eg 40r) as I've found they tend to fit better when they were made during that period than vintage ones that have regular sizes (eg medium, large etc)

i have one from levis and one from bullhead i found in a second hand store. the levis is cut funny so the large fits me appropriately in the shoulders but very tight at the waist. the pockets are also small and shallow.
the bullhead one is a little worn but its cut makes sense, fits well, and the pockets are sized better. shame the bullhead is not being made, id buy another in blue.
