Can we get a watch general in here?
Starting with my Seiko.

All those threads are extremely boring. 80% here are seiko and 20% are omega orient.
I have two watches .
1 st is FC and second is brightling.
Reviving this thread.
I'm in the market for a new watch, something that strikes a reasonable balance between elegance and quality craftsmanship. I'd like to spend $500 on it, up to $600 if it's REALLY special. Yes I know this is chump change but it's the most I can afford at the moment.
I'd prefer a bracelet over a strap because I have a long streak of breaking straps.
What brands should I be looking at? Pic unrelated.
New to watches
Wrist is almost exactly 6cm wide but boney af
How big of a dial should a get?
Looking at orient, seiko and anything else in that range.

40mm and under, but what's more important is lug size and shape.
Hey guys! I don't know jack shit about watches and was wondering if you guys could advise me. I'm looking to get a gold watch with a gold band, preferable with a good compromise of quality vs price. I also need it to be waterproof down to like 50-100 meters. What is the minimum price I can spend before the watches start to get shitty? What kind of drive do I want? Feel free to recommend either brands or specific models to look into.

Guess I should just go try some on.
Don't want to spend $150-200 and have the lugs hanging over the edge of my wrists.

looks like a normal wrist, get any watch you want

Thats what i was thinking. They have one with a brown band, but it has gold trim which i think is ugly
Is this /fa/?
>>11061374
Rofl you have a Breitling but don't know the spelling.
Yeah bro I got a Pateck Felipe.
My Breitling. I've owned a bunch of different mid-range watches, but this is by far the most functional to use at work. I'm an airline pilot at a small regional, and the type of flying I do actually does require a watch.

I usually hate male watch design but that is excellent
Thoughts on vintage?
Less for the functionality and more for the A E S T H E T I C

When does the weekday change? That's some sloppy shit.

That's a fucking cool watch, and it's neat that you actually use it in your job.
>>11064124
I really love watches with stories like this.
Wear in good health!

>wearing a watch when you own a smartphone
Literally wrist fedoras. You fucking mongoloids with your Seikos and cheap digital Casios are the same fucks you see walking around using their phone to check the time
>>11065048
Weird shape and the X logo is a turnoff.
Get a sumo instead.
How does this look?
My parents gave it to me when I finished university but I never wore it much, I don't think it suits me very well

It's kind of cool, it would look better with a brown leather band and sticking out of a long sleeve shirt. Just can't wear it casually.

The date and day of month slowly changes between midnight and 3:00am. Pretty much all luxury high complication mechanical watches does this. Anyone with a luxury watch knows not to adjust the time/date during this period because might damage the gearing for the date/time/moon phases.
>>11062082
go to a store and try them on
vintage Russian watch from ebay. Needs to be serviced and a nicer leather band.

This is the Aerospace I owned before purchasing the B1. I actually like the aesthetics of the Aerospace to the bulky, bling of the B1. However, the B1 is much more practical to use when I'm flying the line because the functions are much easier to use due to the bigger crown, pushers, and more legible lcd displays. The B1 is also one of the few Brietlings that doesn't have the annoying rider tabs on the bezel. They snag on just about everything. You have to be very careful putting on a shirt or sweater otherwise they will snag the fabric.

In the winter I have it on leather, which is much more comfortable in the cold. In the summer I'll switch to the fighter bracelet that it came on, or a blue Breitling Pro 1 rubber strap. Eventually I'll buy a black Breitling leather strap for it, but they're about $150, and money is tight as a young pilot. This is a Hirsch strap that it is pictured on. It was only $40, and the quality is decent, but the difference in quality is noticeable between it and the Breitling leather.
