If they are hereditary, there is pretty much nothing you can do about them. Just lots of water, and something cold on them for a few minutes after she wakes up.

Cucumber slices are for puffiness, not discolouration.
Same with the suggestions for hydration and cool items on the eyes.
Make up would be the easiest fix, so I don't know why you want to discount it. A lavender colour corrector to counteract the yellow then a concealer over the top.
