if you are average the only thing you need to have to wear broadshorts is decently well-built legs.
if you are skinny but good lookin you can pull'em off anyways, just be confident about them

Nobody looks better in board shorts than in shorter shorts. I have built legs and wear short shorts exclusively unless I'm surfing. A muscular thigh is pretty aesthetic.
