Too dressy anons. Yes even the CPs which are not bad but why would you cop a combat that look like dress shoes? Buy dress oxford shoes instead honestly.

>>10994445
Hmm you should really try Corcorans Jump Boots. They're around 150 decent leather, get them in black, they are edgy, last long and have an slim silhouette.
>>
post ones with zippers down the sides
>>
>>10994549
Most fashion boots are like that. imo that's kinda bad because zippers malfunction so easily even the ones of Rick Owens shoes & boots.

It's super easy to break 1 of the zipper teeth and mess up the zipper forever.

If you want boots with zips I suggest you invest more in those and get something edgy, always close the zip slowly, never fast.
>>
>>10994506

thank's for the recommendation, the corcorans look really nice! now I know what I'll get for myself for my birthday

Corcoras & Doc Materns are the best cheap entry level combats imho just pic related is what you gotta do to make them nicer looking, vanilla docs are lame.

Docs are around $120 and Corcorans $150. So I recommend copping Corcorans if you're carrying $200. But if you're cheap well Docs are ok if you fix some of the details yourself.

Sorry, I think you are searching for www.reddit.com/r/coontown

>>10994747
Are they the same price? I think those go for 150 and with that you better just go straight for black corcoran jump boots.
>>
>>10994674
What's the point of getting Docs like that if you're just going to cut off or cover all the unique features?

Because I like the silhouette & low price of them but not the yellow stretching. Those were my reasons.

I wear them when I dress all black usually and the yellowness looks clownish and ruined my looks usually. So fuck the yellow stretching, I made it black and now it's more edgy.

>>10995023
Good but for the price just buy Julius instead.

I saw a pair of brown boots here wich came from a german military surplus site I believe. Fuck I can't find them.
>>
>>10995389
they were not in the mall where I copped my docs and they're 130 not 120. With 20 bucks more I just buy corcorans.

But yeah if they were at the mall when I copped my docs I would have bought the monos instead of the normal ones + taking my time to modify them. Oh well.

Btw if you'e wondering I knew all black docs existed but I don't buy easy2find stuff under 150 on the internet since it's cheaper on the mall.

I did a research and there is a YouTube video explaining.

Made in China are the best Docs quality wise.

The thing is "Made in England" is made by "Middle-Eastern refugees/immigrants" in England.

It went something like China > England > Taiwan or India I don't remember. Going to look it up. Wait.
>>
>>10998018
Hm, interesting. An old punk friend of mine (In his 50s) said that Docs took a turn for the worst after they outsourced to China. Never owned a pair of Docs so could never comment.
>>
>>10998031
>>10996346
Here is my reference:
http://www.alphabetcityblog.com/2009/05/doc-martens-made-in-england-vs-made-in.html

I saw that on YouTube but I can't find the video... Same complaints of the England version "takes forever to break in, uncomfortable af, makes my feet bleed, heavy, yellower stitching, unpainted leather insides".

Maybe actual old docs were better made for sure. But today they just "recreate" them and trust me everyone is lazy and uses the same production process as virtually every country on Earth, even in England they go for whats cheap & cost effective.
>>
>>10992153
Calling it now, New Rocks are still the most comfortable combat boot I've ever worn. Even after hours of being on my feet, still feel great.
The metal shit can look pretty tacky though, so you'll want a pair which doesn't have much of it or make sure it's painted black.

I mean it's easy enough to find boots that look similar to any fit, there are only really a few different types of combat boot (Dior/SLP, Rick/Julius/Guidi, SFB/Rothco, a few other archetypes). I'd rather see the different ways the boots can be worn and then move onto finding a pair that works in the way that I'd like rather than just buying the exact boots from a fit that I like.

>>
>>10998040
All those 'complaints' are the hallmarks of quality and handmade craftsmanship that make the Made in England models desirable.

They take forever to break in, are uncomfortable at first, and are heavier because they're made from thicker more durable leather. You can assist in the break-in period by hitting the boots with a rubber mallet if you don't wanna do it naturally.

The inners are unpainted because they're handmade and you don't see the inside so why would they paint them? The reason the made in China etc boots are so uniform looking is because they're made by machines for a demographic that wants boots that look like everyone else's boots.

I swear people will try to find fault with anything just to be contrary to an opinion.

>The biggest difference is the leather. Vintage DM's use Quilon, supposedly a "reissue" of the original DM leather. It's harder than the leather on the Thai and Chinese Docs. It does have a more substantial feel.

I guess I shouldn't have used the word thicker, but instead the phrase more substantial. Sorry for any confusion.

you're a total cuck if you always appeal to what society expects of you, you will always live a cuck that way.

No it's not. combats + denim + t-shirt is a very fucking standard edgy fashion look. It's hard to mess that shit up unless everything fits too big.

hard to fuck this up since it's so simple, alternatively you can wear a nice polo and look a little more skinhead. I do both during summer when I want to wear combats.
