My aunt had the same problem.
But she had really dark hair. So she made a recipe out of household items.
Soy sauce, vinegar and egg whites.
Mix them in equal parts. You dont need much though.
Then add some cocoa powder depending on darkness of your hair and mix it thoroughly.
Leave the mixture in room away from any source of heat overnight. Dont put it in a refrigerator or anything. Leave it as it is.
And apply slowly yet in the direction of hair growth. Not only it colors your hair pretty solid but also helps thickening and growth.
Proved by my aunt and her daughter.
Oh and you can put like a few drops and even go outside without washing it off.
