Bruno Paul relies too heavily on silhouette and being loosely gestural. Also repetitive poses that he's drawn hundreds of times.
His art is good but when you've seen a few you've seen them all, and they all look like the kind of sketches an art student does when they're told to practice drawing a sketch of a person without taking the pen off the page once. Although maybe somewhat more refined.
But that's just like, my opinion man.
Unrelated kinda related sidenote.
It's funny how conceptual artists are infinitely more skilled both technically and creatively yet get paid like 60grand yearly as compared to Andy Warhol types who haven't a lick of artistic ability at all and somehow manage to become world famous. It really grinds my gears.

It's the same in any just about any field. Crafting an image or persona is a more valued talent than anything technical.

The art you posted really doesn't seem creatively or technically skilled. I guess it's good to base a model on for a video game. But it doesn't elicit emotion in you, does it?
Also stop whining about muh skill. If you bothered to look past one long dead artist you'd find many, many well paid artists who create art that take conventional skills such as painting photo realistically.

i dunno, i think i pretty much hate most digital concept art its always just some edgy dressed character holding a sword or a gun and the detail on digital art always looks cheap and shitty to me. i guess it serves a specific function though
