I accidentally locked in some soap residue on a sneaker with water- and dirtproofing shoespray. What cleaning agents out there are capable of dissolving the protective layer without ruining the canvas/leather underneath? I've tried brushing it with dish soap, rubbing alcohol and aceton with no luck so far.
