Sooo i just picked this up and after looking at them for a while they kinda look like square toe. Are these passable?

I personally think they're gross but 90% of people won't bother to examine every little bit and piece of your outfit like we do.

You still want a derby of some sort? I'd suggest sneakers otherwise.
You might want to spend some time looking at what the typical derby looks like, and get an idea of the kind of shape you find personally appealing. The one you posted has these weird frankenshoe stitchings and is shaped like a box.
