we can be happy because our chemical subconscious doesn't generally follow our philosophical conscious' understanding of the futility of life. You can still have excitement, fun, etc... and no matter what happens it ends! So no matter how bad you fuck it up (for yourself, that is--try not to mess with other people), you have respite in the fact that at some point it ends. So go out, do the things that make you happy until you can do them no longer. Try and keep some scope on the world!
