My personal experience from being in numerous higher education programs for way too long:
Conservatives tend to flock to pragmatic fields like finance, engineering, etc. These fields do not afford them an opportunity to wax poetic about gender issues, so they don't. These fields also emphasize structured analysis and reasoning, meaning "screaming your opinion at the top of your lungs" doesn't tend to be a preferred argument strategy anyway.
Liberals tend to flock to liberal arts fields (hurr), where they are almost instantly told to put opinion to paper without any sort of research or thought. Professors actively reward pro-social thinking, classes are structured to allow idiots to whine about life, etc. One of my first degrees was in liberal arts, and I was basically told to just ramble about shit that I had no clue about. There's actually a publication of mine - thankfully buried deep in a library in my undergrad - that I'd very much like to retract because I'm so embarrassed by it.
Let me compare some classes I've been in over the last ~10 years to illustrate:
- SOCIOLOGY COURSE: Dumb girl makes impassioned 30-minute rant about how Republicans are literally Hitler because of their abortion policies. It is, of course, unrelated to the course itself. No-one stops her.
- CORPORATE LAW: Professor asks if corporations should be ethical instead of make money. Class laughs.
- ENGLISH COURSE(S): I wrote multiple papers just asserting random characters in literature are gay. Instant-A, even though my analysis is complete bullshit.
- ENGINEERING COURSE(S): Professor informs class to suck up their hurt feelings and to fucking learn the material because it's not hard and it's not up for debate. Class does.
- CRIMINAL LAW COURSE: Girl becomes literally triggered during a boring discussion about a rape case and begins to cry in class.
- FINANCE LAW COURSE: Professor goes on rant about how subprime loans are welfare for idiots. A good rant.

i go to school at one of the most liberal universities in the country. literally the only people ever yelling at anybody on campus is conservative christians. occasionally ten (at most) social justice people are protesting something, but considering im only on campus to go to class (like any normal person) i never see them. you are hands down retarded if you cant just put in headphones and go about your own business on campus. ive been in business classes, liberal arts classes, science classes, and social classes. damn near every professor teachs without a filter. ive had multiple professors say a variation of "if you dont like what is going on in class you should leave." i bet more than half of you never even got accepted to a university.
