....i don't think you understand what "locked" and "unlocked" are. anytime you press the power button (on your iphone) you're locking the screen. we're not talking about actually entering in a password, anytime the screen is black, that means it's locked, and you will be starting off on the lock screen when you press your power button again. if your phone didn't have a lock screen, it would mean you could not use your power button and your phone would always look like pic related.
