I agree with buying an old luxury car and how it's pretty tryhard, there's obviously a few exceptions to that but I won't go into it.

Der 525i schluckt im Vergleich zu neueren Autos natürlich ordentlich, selbst um mit 10l/100km über die Runden zu kommen muss man sich schon sehr anstrengen und das macht dann auch keinen Spaß mehr. Vom 535 mit dem m30-Motor ganz zu schweigen.
Von der Versicherung her ist er relativ günstig.
Was eben am 525 geil ist ist dass er ewig läuft, unsrer hat fast 400k km auf der Uhr und technisch ist kaum was dran, klar rostet er langsam zusammen aber dafür ist er auch nur ein Alltagsauto.

I grew up in Germany, the fucking home of these cars, and you talk out of your ass. BMW grew to their name with sportive compact cars and Mercedes built its reputation with comfortable limousines. NONE of hess characteristics are found in new cars to a degree comparable to the old ones.

The engine isn't a conventional engine so people don't know to redline it once per drive or to change it's oil regularly; this leads to engine failure and more unnecessary maintenance.
