Most studies show that people get happier as they get older. You learn more about yourself and the world, have more money, find people to love and appreciate, etc.

On a more individualized level, you can kinda see this in biographies of famous people. Their teens and twenties tend to involve a lot of hard-ass work and a lot of risk but not a lot of "my days were perfect" sort of sentiments.
