I didn't see a thread where this would really fit so I'm starting one, can delete it once the question is answered.
Is there a backup of the sticky somewhere? It's been dead for a while.
Also is there a good short guide on caring for leather boots? I bought some recently that were quite pricy for my budget so I'd like them to last as long as possible. They get a fair share of rain and snow.

As far as i know nah. But it was old and shit anyway.
It really depends on the type of leather. Is it velour, nubuk etc.?

Caleb may have made the intentional decision to pull it, as his personal website remains up. I've been slammed this week (doing some free work for some nonprofits in the area, who are as damn needy as their clientele), but I'm still planning to make a replacement if the sticky's definitively dead.

But seriously, though, they'll have guides at goodyearwelt or whatnot. There are blogs for these things that will be better than a board of hypebeasts and former /b/tards

Sheeeeeeeit, I didn't even know it was dead. I probably accidentally killed the database process while I was developing something completely unrelated.

It's back up.

How to care for work boots:

-If they have mud/debris caked on them, wipe it off with a damp cloth and let them air dry naturally

-If not just give them a once over with a shoe brush after every wear

-For heavy use in rain and snow, once a week apply a thick dubbin all over, paying special attention to the seams and the welt. Let the dubbin soak in overnight

-For occasional wear in easy conditions dubbin is overkill and will dry out the leather. Instead treat it like a normal leather shoe and use conditioner and some sort of light waterproofing whatever your preference is.

-Let them breath for a day after wearing them

That's about it really
