Hey /fa/ need to build a style but am losing weight. Do I wait until I am at my prefered weight to buy clothes or just go for it? Losing <20 lbs.

Finish losing weight before you get any tailored clothes, or casual clothing that is a significant investment. Cheap, tight t-shirts and cheap Levis or Wranglers should get you through until you can end the weight trim.
The exception is overcoats. Buy overcoats now, and get them fitted as topcoats. By the time you're at target weight, they'll be able to fit over more layers.

Buy clothes first so you can get motivated to lose the weight. It would suck if you had a bunch of fits that you can't fit into
