japanese frames are the best, if you can acquire them, matsuda or masunaga to be specific.

Be EXTREMELY careful with where you buy glasses. Warby Parker has a good rep, as do other places, but fly-by-night Chinese places have a rep for being kinda imprecise with their lenses. That's obviously something of an issue.
Believe it or not, Costco has phenomenal reviews and variety according to Consumer Reports. I know a lot of people who have bought there - or through them - and gotten specific things they wanted fairly cheaply.
I don't wear glasses, though, so I can't provide help beyond that.

As you can tell, none of them seem particularly perfect, at least according to that dude.
I always liked WarbyParker, but make the upgrade and get Oliver Peoples. More expensive but higher quality and better designs. Not as basic.
