I'm planning on wearing a navy blazer, button up, trousers.

The problem is though, the only "dress shoes" I have aren't good (as in, they're elfish chukkas). It's a minor college event/dance thing, and it's tonight, so I'm not going to go buy shoes right now.

…can I wear my white KVA multilaces with the above for a "Cocktail Attire" event? I feel like the obvious answer is "NO", but seeing as people are pairing suits with white CPs these days, I figured I should ask first.

I'm not saying they're similar, it's just that they're both sneakers, and I would assume sneakers are just bad candidates for anything remotely formal in general.
