Well the lightweight is all about the fabric you use. Linen is very light weight and so is cotton when done the right way.
to not look like a "hippie, or an indian" you might want to define what looking like that means.
There are some regular cut pants here and a few linen shirts that don't stand out TOO much and could probably be coupled with other pieces to get a relatively "normal" fit.

How well the the clothing breathes is also part of lightness, cotton is kinda weak in that department, whereas wool and linen are great.
Honestly synthetic materials are excellent for summer because of their lightness and breathability.
Purely natural materials are more of a spring/fall thing for me.
Also this thread reminds me of Kapital a lot so people who enjoy this or are interested in this kinda 'look' should check it oou.

check out the Prana sutra pants and shorts, if you want some super comfy airy bottoms. yoga inspired. theyre made of hemp and organic cotton, come in a lot of diff colors. i think theyre on sale right now too.

none of these pieces are particularly high end, most of these pictures I found on etsy. I don't know the quality of most of them I just used them for inspo. Some are expensive, some are inexpensive. A lot of it is handmade (by the Chinese kek).
but yeah, etsy.com if you know where to look, and are willing to take a risk.

as far as embracing the comfort you're going to have to abandon a lot of notions of what you think is /fa/ because if you don't already know what sort of thing suits your body when it comes to wearing oversized clothing it's going to be hard. My suggestion to you is to be comfortable first. Find clothes you find light and breathable in the summer, and thick and insulated in the winter, and then spring and summer find something in between.
A BIG FACTOR ABOUT WEARING THIS IS TO BE IN SHAPE. If you're trying to wear clothing like this to hide your size (and not for comfort like you're supposed to) you're going to be sadly disappointed because it's very obvious.
I might come back in a week or two with another thread with this stuff, because I'm going to try diving into actual shops and not an online thrift store for my next one.
I'd also like to move more into synthetics.
