I mean, it won't look good because it's an ugly shirt, but if the shirt was a good looking shirt, then it could be fashionable.
Most of the time when a game creator is creating a game, if the game is based in reality they have to design clothes for the characters that would realistically be something someone would wear. Clothes designed this way have the possibility of looking good in real life because they were designed to look like a normal article of clothing. For example, if I saw someone wearing a green hoodie I wouldn't start talking to him about San Andreas or something, because it's just a green hoodie.
If you can look at something and tell it's from a video game, then it's too far separated from reality to wear on a normal outfit. You could probably put out a line of clothes from a video game based in reality and make them work with a certain outfit, but it's unlikely anybody would recognize them from the game.
Sometimes video games just go too far with costume design. Look at these suspender pants. This is silly.

Well the company it comes from is very legit and high quality, Insert Coin Clothing. There are close in pics that show the quality of the stitching and all that, can post if you want. It won't be thin either, it looks quite thick, like brushed twill.
