D'orsay flats on the dressier side seem to be typically recommend to women who don't want to wear heels to formal occasions but as long as it's not ballet flats or something entirely inappropriate then it shouldn't be too jarring. The things to keep in mind would just be that if you're going to be in photos to make sure your feet are positioned well or you'll look like you have flippers next to anyone in heels.
